Mr Robot Season 3 Review

The thing about Mr. Robot is that every other episode has a surprise. It is a television show that made hackers popular again, but it’s more than that. A group of hackers rises up to challenge and overthrow the biased system of economic dominance of an elite minority. They do so by attacking one of the largest multi-national conglomerates in America - E Corp. It is a story of rebellion, technology, politics, ambition and revenge. Season 1 was more mysterious and slow, but gripping nonetheless. Season 2 was when things started to get darker and more messed up. Season 3 was the explosive fast-paced aftermath of the first two seasons.

Rami Malek plays Elliot Alderson, a highly intelligent, asocial and troubled hacker who, unwittingly, becomes a part of the biggest cyber-attack of the century. This season is about the consequences of the attack, for the hackers, the people in their lives, E Corp and the public at large. It is a story about how the ambitious stop at nothing to get what they want, how revenge can drive you to do things you never thought yourself capable of doing and how you live with yourself afterwards. Dominique DiPierro is the FBI agent who bites off more than she can chew. Darlene, played by Carly Chaikin, is the weary rebel who is forced to re-examine her beliefs. Angela is the woman on a mission to right the wrongs of the past. Mr Robot, the character, is clever, driven and unpredictable as always. White Rose is as psychotic and coldly focused as ever.

Mr Robot is a riveting show with enough plot twists to keep you hooked. The actors do a good job, though Chaikin’s nasal voice can get annoying. When it comes to the computer programming, you just have to take their word for it. That’s the fun part, though. Looks like Season 4 is going to be about payback; can’t wait to watch it.
